Welcome to D&D ~ Falcone Institute’s interactive and collaborative program inspired by the popular fantasy game Dungeons & Dragons™. D&D is facilitated by one of Falcone Institute’s very own Dungeon Masters along with another Psychoeducational Coach and/or Speech-Language Therapist. D&D is geared toward neurotypical and neurodiverse populations ranging in age from 9 through 16.

Through this program, your child will have the opportunity to design his/her/their own character and team up with other clients/players to support your child’s imagination and creative thinking skills through real-world play, where actions have consequences, collaborative communication efficiently solves problems, and purposeful planning supports achievement of goals.

Your child will face in-game scenarios such as:

  • Hatching a plan for two teammates to distract a pair of guards as a third teammate slips by unnoticed (“Let’s hope they send the cloaked, fleet-of-foot half-elf to do the sneaking, and not the 7-foot tall, armor-clad barbarian!”).

  • Analyzing a split in the road (described by the Dungeon Master) to determine which direction to go.

  • Using their turn to heal a weakened teammate during a surprise goblin ambush.

  • Deciding as a team whether to trust a shady back-alley dwarf who SWEARS that he knows of a secret treasure just outside of town.

  • Weighing risk/reward scenarios such as attempting to use stealth to steal a prized relic versus trying to attack the band of guards protecting it, or just leaving the relic behind entirely!

  • Using their environment to hide from a powerful dragon or produce a solution to lead it astray (such as starting a fire 100 yards away or using the group wizard’s magic to project false images of the adventurers a long way away).

No matter the situation, the team of adventurers will need creativity, imagination, and teamwork to survive a world chock-full of surprises!
